How many credits a lead search actually costs
In Scrape.Email a preview is free and one revealed lead costs one credit. Verification, enrichment, an Instant Scrape result, a discovered creator and a sent email also cost one credit each; the Inbox Campaigns module costs 20 credits per email found and 20 per email sent. Credits are charged only when the task succeeds.
What is free
Previewing a search costs nothing: you see the match count and the field coverage before revealing anything. Category samples are free downloads, and reading the Academy costs nothing.
That means you can measure a segment before deciding whether it is worth spending on, which is the whole point of a preview.
What costs a credit, and when
A revealed lead, a verification, an enriched public URL, a scrape result and a discovered creator each cost one credit. A sent email costs one credit in the standard sender flow; the Inbox Campaigns module is priced separately at 20 credits per email found or sent.
Failed or unsupported work is not charged. If a reveal returns fewer rows than requested, the unused credits return to your balance.
Working out a campaign before you run it
Multiply the rows you intend to reveal by one credit, add one per send, and add a small margin for re-verification. A 500-row campaign with 500 sends is roughly 1,000 credits, which fits comfortably inside the Starter plan's 50,000 monthly credits.
If you use Inbox Campaigns, the maths is different: 20 credits per email found and 20 per send, so 50 contacts and 50 sends is 2,000 credits.
Why previews are free on purpose
Charging for a count would make people guess instead of checking, and guessing produces bad campaigns. A free preview means the cost of a wrong filter is your time, not your balance.
It also makes the pricing predictable: you know the match count and the field coverage before you decide to reveal anything.
Keeping spend visible
The workspace shows the remaining balance next to each module, and the reveal step asks for approval before it charges. If you run campaigns through the API, the same approval step applies.
Check the balance before a big reveal rather than after. It is easier to widen a plan than to explain a surprise.
How to plan a quarter of credits
Take the last three campaigns, average the rows revealed, and multiply by the campaigns you expect. Add verification and sending at one credit each.
If that number is close to your plan allowance, buy a pack rather than upgrading a plan for one busy month.
If it is far below, you are paying for depth you are not using, and a smaller plan plus a pack is the cheaper shape.
What to do when credits run low mid-campaign
Finish the batch you approved rather than stopping halfway through a segment. A half-contacted segment is harder to reason about than a completed one.
Then decide: buy a pack, widen the plan, or pause until next month. Those are three different decisions and only one of them is about money.
What good looks like after a month
You can predict a campaign's cost before running it, and the balance is never a surprise.
Previews do the deciding, and credits only pay for rows you actually use.
The number to put in your plan
Take the rows you revealed last quarter, add the emails you sent, and divide by three. That monthly average is the figure to plan around, not the peak week.
If the peak is more than double the average, buy a pack for the busy month instead of carrying a bigger plan all year.

Cost a campaign in one minute
- Rows you intend to reveal
- Add one per send
- Add re-verification margin
- Check the plan allowance
- Confirm preview coverage first
- Note the Inbox Campaigns multiplier if used
A worked example, hypothetical
A team previews a category, sees 900 matches with strong email coverage, and reveals 300 for one campaign. They send one email each: 300 reveals plus 300 sends, so about 600 credits.
With the Starter plan at 50,000 credits a month, that is a small fraction of the allowance, and the preview told them the coverage before they spent anything.
- 1.Preview
- 2.Reveal 300
- 3.Send 300
- 4.Total 600 credits
What this will not do
- Credit prices are ours; this page is not an independent review.
- Preview counts do not guarantee every row has an email.
- Credits do not include any third-party costs you choose to add.
Questions people ask about this
Are previews really free?
Yes. A preview returns the match count and field coverage without exposing contact rows, so nothing is charged.
What happens if a reveal returns fewer rows?
You are charged per row returned, and unused credits return to your balance automatically.
Do credits expire?
They carry over while your workspace is active. Check your plan terms for the exact period.
Does a failed reveal still cost credits?
No. You are charged per row returned, and unused credits return automatically when fewer rows match than requested.
Is the Inbox Campaigns price the same as a normal send?
No. Standard sending costs one credit per message; Inbox Campaigns is 20 per email found and 20 per send, because two paid services run behind it.
